The week will take place at the end of September in alignment with the International Day of Food Loss and Waste – September 28-October 4, 2026.
Since 2021, states, cities, and organizations have come together to build the National Food Waste Prevention Week movement—a shared space for learning, action, and reconnecting with the value of food.
In 2024, the movement grew significantly, with over 790 partners from 49 states and 22 countries joining forces to drive real cultural change around food waste. You can find the full list of partners below.
