Song Parody Contest

Think you’ve got what it takes to create the ultimate food waste parody? Show off your creativity and help spread the word about reducing food waste! Enter our Parody Contest for a chance to win!

How to Enter:

​

  1. Create Your Parody: Write and perform a parody song or video related to reducing food waste. Your parody can focus on themes like:

    • Checking date labels

    • Freezing and storing food properly

    • Meal planning and portioning

    • Creative ways to use leftovers

    • Any other clever food-saving tips or hack!

  2. Submit Your Entry: Post on Social Media:

  • Share your parody on your social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

  • Tag @FoodWastePreventionWeek and use the hashtag #FWPWParodyContest so we can find and feature your entry!

  • Don’t forget to include a caption about your parody and how it helps reduce food waste.

3.Deadline: Submit your parodies during Food Waste Prevention Week, April 7-13, 2025. All entries must be submitted by Monday, April 14, 2025

 

Judging Criteria: The Food Waste Prevention Week (FWPW) team will evaluate entries based on:

  • Creativity and originality

  • Relevance to food waste prevention

  • Entertainment value

Winner Announcement: The best parody song or video will be selected by the FWPW team and announced on May 1st on Instagram.

Prizes: The winner will receive a $100 gift card and be featured on our official channels!

Important Notes:

  • Parody submissions must be appropriate for all audiences.

  • By entering, you grant FWPW permission to share your parody on social media and other promotional platforms.
