About the event
A guided van tour of the New Hanover County Landfill and Compost Facility; learn about day-to day landfill operations, waste streams, and how to divert food waste from the landfill to be composted. Take a closer look at our unique in-vessel composting system. Free and open to the public, pre-registration required due to limited van seating. Please make sure to pre-register to guarantee your spot in the van. Participants must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.
